Advanced Technology to Support LAN and PoE Environments

Melville, N.Y., April 29, 2010 – ADI announced today it now offers solutions from LAN Power Systems to help dealers easily implement power, video and control solutions for analog and IP surveillance systems. The product offering includes LAN Power’s VIPER Analog Modular and COBRA PoE Midspan product lines.

Designed to use modern UTP structured cabling and legacy Ethernet devices, LAN Power’s VIPER and COBRA solutions make installations easy, logical and cost effective. Their modular design offers the flexibility to accommodate the needs of any type of installation. With support for local and multiple locations, these solutions can reduce costs on the installation and system maintenance.

The VIPER convergence platforms provide video, power and control over UTP structured cabling for analog systems and offer significant benefits and cost savings vs. traditional Coax cabling. VIPER Chassis can support up to 40 cameras each, and may be linked to attach thousands of cameras into a single surveillance system.

The COBRA systems provide Power over Ethernet (PoE) for IP surveillance and security system products. When used with legacy Ethernet switches, COBRA provides full power on all ports, gigabit data throughput and hot swap modularity for a wide variety of IP devices including cameras, VOIP phones, wireless access points, access control products and more.

“LAN Power’s products provide customers with flexibility, simplicity and value,” said Tom Kneis, senior vice president of sales and marketing at LAN Power Systems. “We are looking forward to offering our products at ADI’s numerous branch locations across the country, and making our solutions available to their strong dealer base.”

“As the IP market continues to gain more share, it is important for ADI to ensure we are providing our dealers with the right solutions to build end-to-end surveillance systems,” said Ed Constantine, senior product manager for wire, structured cable, home solutions and tools & hardware for North America at ADI. “LAN Power’s products make a great addition to our IP networking product offering.”
